A summer defined by rain let up enough to allow yet another classic installment of the Rumble on the River. With June and the first two months of July nearly complete wash outs the forecast of more rain seemed to be accurate. However, as the date neared for the 2009 Rumble on the River, it seemed as though the weather would be more forgiving than expected and sure enough the dry weather held up. 12 bouts took place under clear skies with an amazing crowd and incredible back drop of the Hudson River, the Intrepid Air Craft Carrier and the New York City Skyline.

According to the Hudson River Park's estimates, over 3,300 people attended this year's Rumble on the River - a new record for the Rumble on the River and also a record for events at the park for 2009.
