Rumble on the River July 26th 2007
Mother Nature decided to cooperate with us for this event. And, despite a some bad weather at the past Rumble on the River events, a crowd of well over 2,000 spectators come out to the Hudson River Park’s Pier 84 to celebrate the good weather and take in a night at the fights.
This year we chose the date and time to have as many of the fights during the daylight hours as possible. With the sun setting on the Hudson River and the music pumping courtesy of the Scratch DJ Academy, it was a perfect way to spend a summer evening.
With 10 amateur boxing bouts scheduled as well as 2 doses of half time entertainment courtesy of Scion it was night full of action and all of it was free courtesy of Scion, the Hudson River Park, Budweiser and of course, the Church Street Boxing Gym.
The matches featured amateur boxers from all 5 boroughs as well as fighters from New Jersey and Connecticut.
And while for the fans of the Rumble on the River it seemed like too long since we had a dry night for the “Rumble”, everyone that made it agreed that it was well worth the wait.
