Yes, we know how to read a calendar and we know our name is “Friday Night Fights NYC” (don’t you think we know that?) . . . but this summer Thursday is the new Friday! Even though it was in fact a Thursday, the house was still packed and the energy was still surging through the Broad Street Ballroom on July 22nd for a night of 8 exhilarating Muay Thai bouts.

The main event featured up and coming Canadian star Joseph Valtellini who Friday Night Fights NYC crowds saw for the first time on May 14th vs. UFC reality TV veteran, Dorian Price coming back after a 4 year hiatus from Muay Thai. The fight began with both fighters trading kicks and punches while feeling each other out, but in the end it was the more recently active and hungry Valtellini who bested Price with a 3rd round knock out.

In order to ensure they were not outdone, Eric Luna of San Jose, California and Ognjen Topic of Lodi, New Jersey left it all in the ring during the co-main event immediately before the final match of the evening. For 5 rounds, these two technicians battled back and forth, at various times leaving each other flat out on the mat and the crowd on the edges of their seats. Topic however earned his thrilling win over the previously undefeated Luna with precise punches and accurate kicks through and around Luna’s guard.

Another exciting FNF in the books, this one a Thursday. We hope to see you on another Thursday . . . August 5th at Pier 84 in NYC for the Rumble on the River.
