Friday Night Fights October 27th 2006

We have come to expect a good show and a consistent crowd at the Friday Night Fights NYC Series however nobody expected the crowd that came out to support the October 27th Friday Night Fights NYC Event. It was a dreary & raining, the perfect night for Halloween celebrations but less than ideal for the Friday Night Fights however over 1,200 people attended the event which featured 15 bouts (10 Boxing matches and 5 Muay Thai matches) making the October 27th event one of the most well attended events to date.

People from throughout the City descended on the Hall @ St. Paul’s opting for a night of high energy fights over the traditional costume parties. And, nobody left the building disappointed as everyone was treated to an evening full of tricky fighters!

As the ever evolving Friday Night Fights NYC continues, this evening had a few “firsts”. This evening was the first time that the series featured a bout in the “master’s” division and also, it was the first time that two Church Street Boxers competed against one another.

Additional highlights of the evening included the 5 round main event featuring “Mr. Classic” Chris Romulo against the game and surprisingly tough Luke “Little Hulk” Caudillo as well as Chris Kwiatkowski’s return to the ring in 13 months!

The ½ time show featured the Dangere Dance Squad…….some of the most exciting dancers yet to be seen on Friday Night Fights NYC Series and a ½ time show that we will certainly be seeing more of in the future.

With 15 fights the evening lasted longer than usual. And, as though scripted perfectly for Halloween, the final match ended at just about midnight. Exhausted from over 3 hours of adrenaline, the crowd filed out of the hall and into the rain with the knowledge that no “treat” this Halloween would come close to the one they all just experienced.
